Norhalne Cup 2023
Phoenix FC Academy
Denmark, May 18th-21st
Our Academy side travelled to Denmark to play in the prestigious Norhalne Cup. Over 500 sides from all over the world came to Denmark in the competition, playing over 1300 games in three days.
We took part in the U13 boys competition. However, our side included seven girls and four of our U12s.
Drawn in a group of six teams, the Academy group won all five games, conceding just one goal and scoring 19.
They qualified for the semi final and were guaranteed a top four spot.
A tough semi final looked to be heading to extra time as both teams were well matched. However, with the clock counting down the final seconds, Phoenix were awarded a free kick. Harry Leonard stepped up and found the top corner from a tight angle! Phoenix had made the final!
The final was a tough game against a strong physical Thisted BK team. They tried to bully their way through the game and it was a hard fought out game.
Phoenix had a glorious chance to go one up but Harry's shot came off the post and rolled across the goal line before the Thisted keeper salvaged it. A number of chances for both teams came and went with both keepers being called into action but with five minutes to go in the game, Thisted managed to score a scruffy goal from a corner kick after the Phoenix defence failed to clear. That was the difference between the teams and the final whistle sounded soon after.

Although there was plenty of tears at the final whistle, there was also immense pride and happiness at the achievements of all the players.

Our Little Nix finishes up for Christmas
It was our final day for our Little Nix Nursery on Sunday before we break for Christmas and the weather certainly was very festive as our pitch was covered in a blanket of snow.
This didn't stop our Little Nix from braving the elements and putting our coaches through their paces.
Thanks to all our players, parents and coaches for another great nursery season and we hope to you all back in Scribblestown in the new year!!

Our New Partnership
Phoenix FC is delighted to announce a new pathway partnership with the Bohemian FC Academy. In an exciting time with a renewed focus on player development in the country, Phoenix FC’s partnership with Bohemians will begin next season and will see both institutions collaborate on coach and player development, along with other affiliate clubs, to provide a pathway to senior League of Ireland football.

Robbie Grace said: “Bohs are our local club - they are the biggest club in the country. “It was a no-brainer. Once we spoke with Craig Sexton, the Bohemians Head of Academy it was something we really wanted to do, and now we are really looking forward to getting started. “A partnership with Bohs will help us attract and retain players, as well as providing the platform for them to progress.
“Our girls section has grown so much now, which is great to see, that it is important, not just for men’s football, but for women’s football too, that we have a strong partner for both boys and girls to progress.”
Defibrillators arrive at PFC
Defibrillators installed in both Martin Savage Park and Scribblestown
October 17th 20200
This weekend saw the club install defibrillators in both our Martin Savage Park and Scribblestown clubhouses.
It's a huge step for the club to have such installations added this week as it's vitally important to have these available given the number of players we have on our books here at Phoenix FC
It's been a quest the club took on some time ago to try and provide such facilities.
We are more than grateful to the sponsorship we received to help us getting the defibs. Special thanks go to the following sponsors
-
Mark Donovan of Mark Donovan & Associates
-
Damien Clarke of Westbrook Motors
-
Sean Littleton of Your Local Pharmacy
Our U13 Div 2 Sunday side are looking to add a goalkeeper to their squad.

Summer Camps 22
JULY - AUGUST 22
We hosted three sold out summer camps this summer. Really blessed with the weather and the campers this year. We had record numbers and most likely, record temperatures for any camp we've ever hosted, so we are absolutely delighted with the outcome.

Special thanks to our coaches who looked after the campers so well. It's not an easy task to make sure everyone is kept entertained and happy and most importantly, having fun.

Aside from the fantastic football on view, we also had themed days. We had Odd Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day, Anything But A Footballer Day and Coach Dress Up Day. As you'll see from the selection of photos, we had some very willing participants and perhaps a few, that we not so willing ;-)

We look forward to hosting more camps in the future and no doubt having the same craic too.
Mini World Cup 22
JUNE 20TH - JULY 1ST
The next generation of superstars came together in Scribblestown over the course of two weeks of fantastic football games.
First week saw the the younger ones takes centre stage. Those born from 2015 to 2013 played over 60 games over the first week. We saw plenty of goals, great saves and a dramatic penalty shootout to claim the title.

Our second week of the tournament, those born 2012 to 2010 took the field. Again, we had a fantastic response to sign up and this ensured plenty of games would be played.
There was no shortage of drama, excitement and shock as the favourites were knocked out in the quarter finals. The semis saw a sudden death penalty shootout that seemed to go on for an age.
Like the tournament the week before, the final went to another dramatic shootout. Despite the fact the heavens had decided to soak everyone to the bone, the crowds stayed to cheer everyone on and celebrate as the winners received the trophy and their medals
Champions!!
MAY 29 2022
Phoenix FC were crowned PTSB Challenge Cup Champions in the AUL Complex last Sunday.
This rounded off a successful season for the first team as they added to their League Cup win and a creditable third place finish in the league too.
An early goal in the 2nd minute from DJ, who finished with a fantastic lob over the onrushing keeper plus a fantastic strike from outside the box from Keego in the second half, saw The Nix take the win and be crowned Challenge Cup Winners 2022
